Minutes of Acklington Village Hall Committee
Annual General Meeting 14th October 2010

Apologies received from Vi Currie and Barbara King
Present: Lorna Budge, Barbara Cock, Graham Cock,, Eddie Critchlow, David Hammond, Alison Sharpe, Bob Smailes, Sharon Thorpe and Steve Thorpe

The minutes of the last AGM were read and approved.

The treasurer Bob Smailes presented the financial statement showing a profit in the year of £551.45. £2,604.01 is held on the current account, £4,102.95 on the Business Saver/Instant Access account, £25,000 on the Treasury Deposit Bond and £11.41 cash in hand. The accounts were accepted by Eddie Critchlow and seconded by David Hammond. A copy of the accounts will be sent to the Parish Council for their records.

The Chairman Eddie Critchlow reported that the committee had another successful year. The lease for the garden had been signed and planning permission granted for the development of the back room.
Special thanks were expressed to:
• Vi and Sharon for their efforts in progressing the developments
• Richard Sullivan for his work on the plans for the back room
• Alison for her work as the booking clerk
• Bob for keeping the finances in good order and sorting out new electricity contracts
• Sharon for dealing with the secretarial work
• John Robson for cutting the grass around the hall, donating fence posts and his valuable assistance with the garden
• The committee for their hard work and enthusiasm

The plans for next year include changing custodian trustee to the Parish Council, obtaining hallmark accreditation, finishing the garden and progressing funding for the back room development

3 management trustees were elected Alison Sharpe, Bob Smailes and Sharon Thorpe. 1 vacancy is unfilled.
